OPTIROUTE is a GIS based software solution that ensures timely and effective planning of cost effective routes keeping in view employee shift schedules. Employees can be scheduled to be picked up and dropped from their doorstep to reach the workplace and vice-versa
How it works?
OPTIROUTE selects the optimum way to pick-up / drop
employees from a large list everyday, dividing the list into sub groups of people (numbers in each subgroup varying depending on vehicle seating capacity and availability).
The entire city is divided into various geographical zones / routes / sub-routes so that one area is covered by one vehicle. All employees falling under a particular zone/ route are picked up in a single round. Unlike in the past, vehicles now need to traverse to predefined areas eliminating the need to cover huge geographical areas.
OPTIROUTE also charts the optimal route mix for the vehicles, which enables maximum number of employee pick-up and drops, the main parameters used for selecting the routes being least travel time and cost. Since most of the vehicles are hired, OPTIROUTE also comes with the functionality of calculating the optimal route distance.
OPTIROUTE comes with detailed digital maps of the entire city with details of street names and landmarks and the provision to clearly mark employee residence/pick up points.
